It was reported Aug. 12 that the former Lone Star Brewery on the city’s South Side had been sold to an Austin company that plans to convert the 23-acre site into a mixed-use development.

Last week I got to write about my dream come true: being able to live inside the Lone Star Brewery.

The details weren't very clear at that point. But I've found out a little more, and it still sounds like an exciting place to be.

The Lone Star Brewery, a South Side landmark since 1933, soon will see new life - in the form of a mixed-use development.

Austin-based B. Knightly Development & Construction bought the 22.8-acre site Aug. 1 and plans to turn the brewery, vacant since 1996, into an urban community.
